WASHINGTON, D.C. – Astenrogen Chapter daughter Theresa M. Willemsen
was recently honored at the national conference of the National Society
of the Daughters of the American Revolution held in Washington, D.C.
Willemsen was honored at the New York State luncheon in Washington
as the Outstanding New York State chapter regent for 2004. She is the
former regent of the Astenrogen Chapter of the DAR in Little Falls
2001-2004. In addition, Willemsen currently serves as the Central
New York Round Table chairperson.
Willemsen received national honors as the outstanding state chairman
of the Women’s Issues Committee, which she chairs for New York State.
As part of the Women’s Issues Committee, Willemsen organizes an
essay contest based on the topics of career, family and health. New
York was pleased to have two Northeast Division winners in that contest
and especially honored to have Sandra Stoker Gilliland of Scipio
Center, N.Y., Owasco Chapter, win at the national level for the
In her role as the New York State Women’s Issues chair, Willemsen
travels throughout the state educating and promoting activities related
to women’s issues.
Willemsen and her husband, Frank P. Willemsen Jr., reside in
Richfield Springs. She is employed by Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown,
in the Women’s Health Department.
