RSCS to conduct exit poll survey on budget vote
by Robert Barraco

The Richfield Springs Central School Board of Education is utilizing a telephone survey to ascertain information regarding the school budget vote. The annual budget vote is held in May. Meetings and discussions are conducted prior to the vote. The board felt compelled to gather data from the community to understand the voters’ concerns. The discussions and meetings held prior to the vote were poorly attended, in the board’s opinion, and public views were not readily available. Therefore, the concept of an exit poll phone survey was decided upon.

Students receiving community service credit are conducting the phone survey. They are calling a random sampling of voters to get their views. There is no obligation to answer. If anyone would like to provide input, they can call the school and request a survey or provide their answers. The board is looking to be proactive and begin the next school year with information that can help them in their efforts to be responsive to the community.

If you have questions or concerns regarding the survey, the budget, or other issues, please call the school at (315) 858-0610, extension 201.

Robert Barraco is superintendent of schools at RSCS.
