As it had been 21 years since I was last in Richfield, “going home” was very special for me. Seeing my classmates after such a long time was an emotional thing. First, one would tell me that I haven’t changed a bit (except for the hair color) and then the next one that came along didn’t have a clue who I was. Friday we spent a great deal of the day talking to each other’s chest (where the name tags were). The 11-year spread let me connect with friends that were a year or so ahead of me or a year behind. Spending time with “the photographer,” “the author,” “the wine merchant and his wife,” and the “water taxi team” (I will collect that ride on the lake next time) brought back a lot of great memories. The reunion team outdid themselves putting the weekend together. With the class of ‘63’s 50th coming up in three years, it is my hope that I will be making a return trip to Richfield.
