Dear Janine and everyone at The Mercury, What sad news to learn that The Mercury is being put on hold, just when you have introduced so many extra nice features and special columns to make the paper the best it has ever been. The really great reporting and articles by Bruce Watson and the nostalgic accountings by Don Urtz added to the other contributors has definitely added interest and depth to the paper. What a shame! Television, radio or the computer does not offer the hometown personal touch of a newspaper such as The Mercury. Re-establishing the paper was such a positive thing for our community. It will surely be missed, as how will we learn about the community, school and area happenings as well as the news from our neighboring communities? I for one have never missed an issue. I would wish that there is some way to save the paper and most sincerely hope that this is just a very temporary situation and a solution is forth coming. I congratulate you all on a job well done and I hope to see you back in print very soon! Sincerely,
Judy Stone Butternut Barn Richfield Springs
