Richardsons offer well wishes

We were putting the final touches on some episodes for our travel series last Wednesday when the phone rang. The caller gave us the sad news that a companion of ours, for the last few years, was leaving. The companion was almost always full of good news of the fine people of the local surroundings. We were kept well informed of all the local events and the achievements of our young people. If there was a controversy brewing he would always present both sides of the story. R S Mercury will be missed.

Mariel and I will always be grateful for the chance we were given to share our stories and adventures traveling around this great country. Putting them together gave us an opportunity to relive each one. We were constantly amazed when folks told us how much they enjoyed traveling with us through our stories.

There are a lot of untold stories left. For many of them we have home videos and we have stacks of albums. Maybe we will find away to share these in the future.

Maybe a few years from now someone will say “What a great idea it was to bring the town folks together through a local paper, as Jay Bernhardt did. Let us give it a try.” Thank you Jay and team.
