Dear Janine, Brandon, Pat, Stan and Erin, Thank you for your valiant work in trying to keep the Mercury going. We owe you a lot for work above and beyond the call of duty. The Raymond G. Ehrmann Pharmacy opened on April 4, 1931 on the clock corner by Raymond G. Ehrmann, PH G and his wife, Marguerite. Our pharmacy was there until April 9, 1982 and we sold The Mercury each week all of those years. I remember Clarence Ackerly and Leroy, Marie and Tom Palmer, all former publishers of the Mercury. The paper has always been important to our community and people would come into our pharmacy on Thursday and say, “Is the Mercury in yet?” Richfield Springs is a great place to live and to bring up a family, receive a good education at RSCS, and go on to higher learning. The point being that the Mercury has been a part of our lives for many years. We will miss it and hope that perhaps it indeed will come back soon. Sincerely, George M. Ehrmann, Pharmacist, RSCS 1950, and wife, Joyce Ehrmann Richfield Springs, N.Y.
