Letters to the Editor

Letís Do It!

Okay, so after reading the editorial ďLetís Get Back to the BasicsĒ in last weekís Mercury it occurred to me, letís build a program. Letís build a Richfield Springs football program.

Look, enough is enough people. When Iím in the weight room I hear other students saying, ďThis really stinks,Ē or ďMan, I donít want this merger of football teams to happen.Ē Donít tell me those things; you need to tell the Board of Education.

Step out into the light and have your voice be heard. Be at the meetings and voice how you feel. You know who you are! Absolutely to build a program would be difficult, but it has to be done before. (Coach Lenny) Calkins built a program, so why canít we? All we need is a coach; one that will be here and one that will stay through several seasons and not just one.

As far as player support to merge, several people of influence have been persuaded we cannot win here at RSCS. It is because of this that much of the team is following. Letís build it, even if we build it against all odds. Letís become the school with the sectional title flags.  Letís become a football team again.
