Funds for Vets project sought

In these uncertain times it is often difficult to decide where our financial resources are best spent. It is especially important during these times to show our support for the men and women that sacrifice so much to make our way of life possible. That is why we need your help.

There is a new Veterans’ Outreach Center being constructed in the YMCA building on Washington Street in Utica, N.Y. This center will offer transitional and permanent housing to disabled, elderly and returning veterans. There will be a variety of other supports and services available at the center, including counseling and referrals. It will take a concerted, community-wide effort for the long range vision of the center to become a reality.

That is why we are reaching out to local and regional business leaders and organizations for direct donations toward this cause. The donations are tax-deductible, and will be channeled directly to the Outreach Center. Our club on the MVCC campus has an account set up for this purpose. Checks are payable to ASC (Auxiliary Services Corporation); they will need to be picked up by myself or a club representative. At that time, the appropriate tax forms will be distributed. If you have any questions whatsoever, or would like to make a donation, please contact me at 315-533-1362 or adenoto31@student.mvcc.edu.

The project is vital not only for the Veterans of the area, but for our community as a whole. Please show your support by donating today-and really, any contribution that you see fit will help! Thank you very much for your support.

Sincerely,

Tony Denoto

Mr. Denoto is vice president  of the Chemical Dependency Club at Mohawk Valley Community College
