Change can bring joy and benefits

Dear Ms. Giordano,

I wanted to respond to your article, ďDonít be afraid to take out your tree.Ē Your article really spoke to me and I wanted to share this comment.

Awesome article!!!  Personally speaking, I find it difficult to deal with change unless I decide Iím ready to handle and make a change. I believe its because I like to feel in control of my life. I donít like it when change just happens and I am forced to respond and adapt to it.  I know itís a natural part of life in order for The Wheel to continue to turn, but its not always pleasant.

Perhaps, however, for those of us who need to feel in control, we still do have a certain degree of control, even when change just happens. We can control how we respond to change. We can respond in a positive or a negative way.

Change is necessary, especially when things become stagnant, as you had pointed out. When things have become stagnant for so long, sometimes change just happens. A divine spark, if you will, may come along from seemingly out of no where to ignite the fires of change. Sometimes, it may seem for the worse, rather than be the worst.  However, change happens.

Change may seem painful if weíve been down for so long.  It takes us out of our comfort zone and forces us to do something that we feel cannot be done. We can either move and flow with the change or get left behind to tarry in the past. It may seem destructive, but we must remember that out of destruction blooms creation.

We must look at the Big Picture and make sacrifices so that we may relish the benefits and joys that change may bring.

Do I think we can all put our Big Girl and Boy Pants on and get ready to make the necessary changes to improve things for our future?  I say yes...yes, we can!

May you walk in Love & Light,

April  Guardi
