RSCS Reunion - August 20-22 2010

95th celebration set in Springfield

The 4th of July Committee in the town of Springfield met this week to set plans for the Parade and Celebration. The theme this year for floats will be: “Red, White, Blue and GREEN.”

“It should be very interesting to see the results of people’s creativity using the environmental green theme for the floats and entries for this year’s parade,” said chairwoman Deb Miller.

“With recycling and alternative energy being a concern for all, we are looking at ways to have the materials we use for the parade to be recycled and each container will be clearly marked this year to encourage recycling.”

As always, there will be many games, activities and displays at the Community Center, and of course, Brooks BBQ.  Fritz Henry will provide entertainment and the Cooperstown Community Band will perform at noon.
