Herkimer, N.Y. - The Grammy-award winning Turtle Island Quartet will perform this Friday, March 27 at Herkimer County Community College. The concert, A Love Supreme: The Legacy of John Coltrane, will begin at 8 p.m. in the Sarkus-Busch Theater located in the McLaughlin College Center.
The concert is offered through The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series. Yo-Yo Ma called Turtle Island Quartet “A unified voice that truly breaks new ground – authentic and passionate – a reflection of some of the most creative music making today.” The Birmingham News proclaimed them to be “...intellectually engaging, technically dazzling and emotionally rich...”

The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series is the result of a generous endowment made by the late Robert H. Wood, a long-time resident of Ilion, N.Y. The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series sponsors at least two classical music performances annually to allow residents of all ages to enjoy high-caliber music and artists.
