Alternative education offered at MVCA

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – Since 1980, Mohawk Valley Christian Academy (MVCA) has provided area families with a quality education in a Christian environment. The school’s mission is to assist parents in carrying out the Biblical command to bring up their children “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

MVCA offers a complete education – academic, spiritual, moral and physical. With experienced, qualified teachers and a low student/teacher ratio of 10 to 1, students receive the individual guidance and attention they need.

Although the school is located in Little Falls, students have attended from an area stretching north to Stratford, south to Richfield Springs, west to Frankfort, and east to Fort Plain, including most of the communities in between.  New York State law requires local school districts to provide free transportation for students who live within 15 miles of the Academy.  Students living more than 15 miles away may receive transportation from a central pick-up point if their district is already sending a bus to the Academy.

A complete program for elementary and high school students is offered at MVCA. Grades kindergarten through eighth are taught in traditional classrooms, while ninth through twelfth grade students use an individualized, self-paced program.  In this program each student has their own private “office” learning area where they work their way through a course of study individualized to meet his specific needs and learning capabilities. One-on-one learning assistance is provided as well, and the individualized learning is supplemented by classroom activities.

An informational meeting and Open House will be held Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at the school, which is located at 156 West Monroe Street, Little Falls.  This is an opportunity for interested parents and students to see the classrooms, meet the teachers, and learn more about the school and its programs.

For more information, please phone the school at 315-823-3696.
