The Utica and Mohawk valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will meet on Friday, February 13, at 7 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, on the corners of French and Burrstone roads in the town of New Hartford. There will be a business portion conducted by Doug Preston, president of the society, with reports on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, the Archive Room at Union Station in Utica, the ongoing restoration of New York Central Steam Switcher Children’s Museum, possible day and/or overnight trips, Amtrak trips, plus many more activities and projects ahead for us in the coming months. After the break many members will participate in the Chapter’s Annual Show and Tell Night where members bring railroad items that they may have bought at train shows, antique shows, flea markets and other venues. This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in railroads and railroad history. We also invite guests the opportunity to join the Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society as regular members.
