Create 19th-century folk art

Cooperstown, N.Y. – Learn to appreciate the art forms of another century by taking part in a special 3-day craft making experience entitled Family Folk Art Workshop. The workshop will take place February 17 through 19, from 9 a.m. to noon each day in the Louis C. Jones Center at The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown.

Family Folk Art Workshop offers a unique opportunity to spend time with children and grandchildren. Encourage artistic exploration into 19th-century folk art and crafts such as reverse painting on glass, creating round bottom baskets, quilling, making yarn dolls and more.  Express yourself and produce works-of-art to take home and display.

All activities will be led by museum educators.  Some activities will take place within the Fenimore Art Museum.

Workshop cost:  Members of the New York State Historical Association: Children 9-12: $25; Adults: $75.  Non-members: Children 9-12: $30; Adults: $85. Reservations are required; please call 607-547-1481.
