Time to pick up Soil and Water Conservation District trees

On Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, 2009, the Herkimer County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) staff will be distributing the trees, shrubs, groundcovers and planting accessories that were ordered by many local residents during their annual tree and shrub sale.
Extra stock is available and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.
Some of the items available are five varieties of evergreen seedlings (25 for $18), five types of deciduous trees (10 for $12), five varieties of evergreen transplants (10 for $20), two variety packets ($16 each), assorted groundcovers (50 plants for $17), wildflower seeds ($6.50 per 3/4 oz. bag), Highbush blueberries (10 plants for $33), Amish made Bluebird Nest Boxes ($12 each) and various planting accessories such as fertilizer tablets, locally bagged compost, Plantskydd® Animal Repellent, Tubex® tree shelters and Vispore® tree mats.
The hours of operation are Friday, April 24th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Come early for the best selection.
The sale will be conducted behind the SWCD office in the Scialdo Business Park on Route 5, approximately 2 miles east of Herkimer.
