Unless there is a write-in candidate, the two men seeking to serve the village of Richfield Springs as trustees will claim their two-year term positions unopposed. | | Ron Frohne, candidate for village of Richfield Springs board of trustees. (Photo by Janine Giordano) | | On March 18, from noon to 9 p.m., village residents will be casting votes to fill two village trustee positions, currently being sought by incumbent John O’Connor and newcomer Ron Frohne. Frohne, a social studies teacher within the Little Falls School District, has been serving the village as a member of the zoning board of appeals since last April. Raised in Richfield Springs, Frohne graduated from RSCS in 1990. He went on to receive his bachelors degree from Nazareth College, his masters from Fordham University, and his certification to teach social studies from the University of Albany. “What we need is more transparency,” Frohne said. “We need to educated and communicate with the public. A lot of good things are happening within the village but they are not being communicated.” One way Frohne hopes to improve communications is with a web presence, he said. As trustee, he also plans to ensure agenda items are moved in a timely manner and that the interests of taxpayers and services provided are considered equally. O’Connor could not be reached prior to deadline. Frohne encourages communication and invited the public to contact him via email at rfrohne@hotmail.com.
